SOLANGE KNOWLES - HER FASHIONABLE WEDDING DAY - EMAN ELITE (18/11/2014)

The Marigny Opera House in New Orleans heard songs of joy and saw an unlimited amount of fashionable and outstanding outfits as it played host to the wedding of Solange Knowles and boyfriend Alan Ferguson. The couple said their “I do’s” on Sunday 16^th of November in front of a confirmed 200 family and friends.

The couple arrived at the venue on bicycle; the bicycles had been especially painted for the couple to remain in conjunction of the all-white theme from the beginning of the ceremony, right through to the very end.

Solange arrived at the wedding in a cream jumpsuit, with a cape and a plunging V-neck the entire outfit was designed by Frenchman Stephane Rolland. Alan who has directed some great music videos which include ‘Green Light’ by Andre 3000 and John Legend, ‘Dance for You’ by Beyoncé and Katy Perry’s ‘Hot n Cold’ he matched in an all-white suit custom made by Lanvin.

For the remaining of the ceremony, Solange changed into a floor length Humberto Leon for Kenzo dress, with Jill for Lady Grey Bracelets and Stuart Weitzman shoes. Solange and Alan literally threw tradition out the window, by having their guest arrive in the same colour, by designing a non-traditional wedding dress and according to Vogue Magazine she walked down the aisle to an instrumental of Donny Hathaway’s “I Love the Lord, He Heard Me Cry.”

On a side note, Alan is 51 years of age while Solange is 28, this clearly shows that ‘love’ has no age limit. Imagine coming home to tell your family that the person you intend to marry is 23 years older than you, LOL right… of course, because we all know how they would react. Anyway, congratulations to the newlyweds, I still remember when Solange was in the Destiny Child music video to their hit song ‘soldier’ with her baby bump, time has really gone by

IAN PRESTON - SYCHELLE YANDA (10/11/2014)

Music plays a very big role in my life and always has, from the lyrics to the beat it always captivates me. Through social media more young people have been able to display their musical talents, and through doing some research I came across a young soul artist named Ian Preston. I was desperate to find out more about Ian as you don't see many young people doing music in the soul genre. Conducting an interview I was able to ask Ian questions based around his music. 

Ian explained that music became a serious part of his life three years ago at age 16. That's when he branched into the soul genre as that's what his voice suits in terms of melody. Soul has been around for many decades, and I was intrigued to know who were his inspirations when starting. Ian responded saying "no one"The future soul artist explains his individuality which really shocked but inspired me at the same time as most musicians have that idol that they look up to, but by the impression I got it seemed that Ian wanted other artists to look up to him. 

 When I asked Ian to summarise his music he concludes by saying he does 'feel good music' and that is exactly what soul is so I definitely agree with him. On previous occasions when performing at open mic nights, the audience have given him feedback saying that he has a very strong and powerful soulful voice. This enabled Ian to carry on as his style was received well. Although having a very short interview, I had learnt a lot about Ian and his style of music and what made him unique from many other young artists out there. It was a pleasure getting to know him.
