WORLD CUP'S EVE - OLA ADEOTOYE ( 12/06/2014)


Ever since footballs governing body FIFA announced to the world that the 2014 World Cup was to be hosted by Brazil a powerhouse in the sport, we have (as in I and the rest of the waiting world) have been counting down the years, the months, and the days, and now ladies and gentlemen the Eve of football's greatest...no let me rephrase that, 'Sports greatest competition' has finally dawned on us all.
Thursday evening the rest of the viewing world and fans will witness organisers present all the cultural flavours Brazil has to offer during the opening ceremony. As marvellous as it will be in terms of bright lights, wonderful colours, and pyrotechnics, the football fan inside of me is itching for the on-pitch action to commence.

First things first the hosts of this summer's festivities go head to head with Croatia. Though they are much fancied by most to win the tournament, it will by no means be a straightforward match. Especially when going up against a side with the likes of Luka Modric, Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Rakitic, Mateo Kovacic and other recognised faces Niko Kovac's side will be a test for most teams.

From there after its 32 teams battling each other for 29 days and all for world domination and capture of the famous Jules Rimet trophy. The summer really does star here for football fans, whereas in a normal year we'd have to wait till the start of the new Barclays Premier League season, while using ongoing transfer speculation as a form of mild entertainment.

Ready your flags, your world cup jersey's and your cans of beer because whatever team your all supporting (mine personally being Nigeria and England) one thing is for certain this year's World Cup will be full of thrills, spills and the usual upsets that will make the tournament in the adopted 'home of football' very special!

IS RIHANNA FASHIONABLE ? - EMAN ELITE ( 09/06/2014)

Vogue in the modern day French language means ‘style’. Style something that each individual possesses, when it comes to getting dressed up and showing the world their particular Fashion sense. The magazine which has been up and running since the year of 1892 had an illustration of lady in a fuchsia dress as their front cover. However now, it seems Vogue is channelling the sex appeal of celebrities to boost sales and profits. In particularly Vogue Brazil as I say this, but regardless, it is the same magazine.

Taking a look at these two photos of singer Rihanna, I am failing to see the ‘fashion’. These photos are from Rihanna’s Vogue Brazil 2014 shoot. Taking the pictures from completefashion.org it said ‘The Bajan superstar shows no sign of slowing down as she lands another prestigious Vogue cover’ I am sorry ‘Prestigious’ it said. In my own fashionable opinion, there is nothing neither fashionable, nor prestigious about a woman grabbing her breasts in front of the camera. I am not saying that Bajan born and bred singer cannot dress, or channel her inner fashion self, we have all seen her do it. But Vogue is a FASHION magazine, which features and showcases style, fashion, and everything elite about clothes.

We all know that Rihanna is not afraid to show off her body, it is one of her major selling points, other than her music, but when it comes to Vogue, I would rather see Kim Kardashian on the front cover, once she has been styled by Kanye of course.

Fashion is what fashion is; let’s say it is in the eyes of the beholder. But this just goes to show that fashion may no longer be about clothes and style, but is now about the sexual exploitation of celebrities.  Rihanna definitely being one of those that likes to be exploited. I may be over exaggerating, but this is what I feel, and I am talking from both a male point of view and a fashion blogger point of view.

IS BIEBER THE NEW FACE OF HUSTLER ?- @PlayDirtyJones ( 26/05/2014)
 On Monday evening, 20-year-old (remember this age) Justin Bieber was recently spotted hanging with Paris Hilton, partying topless at the Gotha club in Cannes. 

Soon after his topless sighting, news came out that American Strip club brand 'Hustler' had allegedly offered 'Heart breaker' singer JB $1m to be the 'face' of their brand.

Hustler, run by pornographer Larry Flynt, made the offer via a letter sent to Bieber's manager. However the offer seems to be more of a publicity stunt. A copy of which is up on MailOnline, is very badly written with many of grammar and spelling mistakes.

Most of Bieber's fans are teen girls, who are under the legal age of going to a strip club. The legal age to go to a strip club in the states is 21, now does anyone remember Mr Bieber's age? Yep, he's 20.. Now how can a 20 year old be the face of something he's not even allowed to do.

I won't be surprised if this is a publicity stunt, however, i also wont be surprised if it isn't. Canada born Bieber hasn't been  the perfect role-model recently, he's been arrested several times and been involved in brawls - not physically fighting but he allegedly got his body guard to beat up a paparazzi. I'm not too sure if this bad boy image is Hustler's is going for but I speculating that maybe they're indirectly getting Bieber's fans to get into porn or stripping because Justin thinks its good? 

Here's a part of the letter Bieber's camp received. There's many things that made me laugh reading this email, especially the part where it says "when he reaches the age of 21 on March 1, 2115". Either I'm in the past or something is up, You just have to read this and chuckle.

ARSENAL 3-2 HULL CITY (AET) - OLA ADEOTOYE (19/05/2014)

Arsenal's stay in trophy wilderness approached almost a decade (nine years to be exact) before Saturdays final against Steve Bruce's Hull City. Since Arsenal's legendary midfielder and Captain Patrick Vieira lifted the FA Cup aloft in 2005, Gunner's fans have had to painfully watch on as rival after rival picked up silverware in their absence. As the final whistle blew in their semi-final match against Everton, it dawned on fans that their club were one step closer to exorcising their demons of the past nine years. With Hull getting past a stubborn Sheffield United team they too had the opportunity to lift a cup steeped in the history of the English game. However entering the game Arsene's side were made outright favourites by the bookies, which came as no shock considering the gulf in class between the two teams and the individual talent present in the Arsenal squad. Such was the confidence amongst the team, its players and their fans, that days before the game the Arsenal victory parade bus had been prepped and was awaiting Wenger and his players' triumphant return.

But as pundits alike remind us every year 'this is Cup football' and what makes the FA Cup in particularly its showpiece final at Wembley special, are the moments and at times shocking results the 'underdogs' pick up against the top tier sides. Though as much as I and the rest of twitter had our fingers crossed for an upset (those of us outside of the Arsenal fan club), deep down we were all somewhat pessimistic of those chances. Yet four minutes into the game Hull took the lead through James Chester's flick, whether accidental or purposely it hit the net. That goal seemed to have winded the entire Arsenal team as five minutes later Hull scored their second as captain Curtis Davies pounced first as Alex Bruce's header hit the post, before side-footing it home from the tightest of angles. I'm sure you are aware that after my previous comments I was celebrating with the rest of the 25,000+ Hull City fans. After ten minutes the scoreboard read Arsenal nil Hull City two who would've imagined such events. Any celebration was short-lived however as Santi Cazorla's brilliant curling and dipping free-kick sailed past Hull's Scottish keeper Allan McGregor. Both team entered the tunnel for half-time after what had been a pulsating forty-five minutes of football.

For the rest of the game Arsenal dominated the ball and the game with Hull clinging on for dear life. But as Arsenal cranked up the pressure it was inevitable that the 'Gunners' would find the net, and from a Cazorla corner Koscielny diverted the ball through McGregor's legs. Hull managed to ride the remaining wave after wave of pressure from the North London side, but in extra time just as penalties were looking a possibility up popped the man of the hour and Arsenal's season Aaron Ramsey. Who from a delicate Giroud back-heel steered the ball past the goalie in a calm manner. The resulting reaction at full time was the exact opposite on the other hand, but who could blame any supporter of Arsenal, after all that Wenger, the team, and the supporters had been through over the years, they had ended their nine year trophy hoodoo and were newly crowned FA Cup winners of 2014.

How to get the right look with Foundation ! - Isis Thorne (12/05/2014)

It's not a surprise makeup has made a bigger and better comeback these past few years! From 90’s looks to being switched up with the new to create more empowering looks.

Many new makeup artists portray the wrong ideas that in order to look a certain way or achieve a classified “look” you must have a certain foundation or particular products. WRONG WRONG WRONG. Let me tell you what really matters. It's about your technique.

Women are now more interested in looking identical to one another than focusing on what their skin needs and can handle.

From high street shop foundations to high brand foundations (MAC, Bobbi Brown etc) there will ALWAYS be a foundation that protects and suits your skin, as well as a foundation you “believe” looks nice however is slowly corrupting the skin beneath.

Foundation is used to even the skin tone and depending on what one you've used as well as your technique, it gives off three main looks:

1)      The “Natural” Look (where it looks like your not wearing foundation)

2)      The “Flawless I Know I Look Good” Look (people will probably know your wearing foundation, but it suits the skin and looks extremely good.

3)      The “Was You Awake When Applying” Look (Foundation shade WRONG, Blended WRONG, Everything a classic disaster.

Below are reviews of my personal favourite tested and skin benefiting foundations, which look good but also feel good.

Hopefully after reading this you are directed to find the best foundation for yourself.

1)      Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation:

This foundation is very easy to apply whether using your fingers or a preferred brush. It is also very easy to locate, it being a drug store foundation which can be found in shops mostly like Boots or Superdrug etc..

The best thing about this foundation is as well as it being suitably priced around £8 it gives off great coverage which is can be built up IF required. Recently I've also come to realise it is more water based, this is good because it can neutralise the skin throughout the day which prevents breakouts and doesn't dry up your face unlike other foundation. Not to mention on some days, gives out a natural, warming glow.

2)      Mary K Timewise Luminous-Wear Foundation

If your going for the Dewy, glowy look. This foundation has SPF in it which is good in terms of protecting the skin from being damaged from the sun however it does tend to come along quite heavy on the skin. So I do highly advise starting off with a small amount and gradually building up as you go along. Again for such an affordable foundation it gives off great FULL coverage so one layer should be reasonably enough. Like I stated before, too much can cause the face to feel heavy which would object to occurring breakouts. So be aware.

3)      Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation

My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE foundation ever! I have never spent so much on a foundation (£28.50) but I guess its true what they say sometimes, a higher price guarantees the quality. This foundation is a light coverage foundation with SPF so as well as being able to build up the coverage, it also protects the skin. Unfortunately, I find this foundation to be quite matte however doesn’t dry up the skin or create breakouts. Flawless results no doubt about it.

IMPORTANT: A lot of ladies result to using MAC Cosmetics, I hugely advise trying to avoid this brand when it comes to foundation. It has been proven that because of such heavy liquid and product used it does cause horrible breakouts. No matter how much of the coverage you are trying to achieve, for your skin please find an alternative.

I hope my three foundation recommendations have appealed to you, and you now feel more confident to try different brands to find the perfect substance that is suitable for your skin.
